About

The Kerala Backwaters span 900 km of interconnected canals, rivers, lakes, and inlets, forming a unique aquatic landscape. Alleppey (Alappuzha) is the hub for houseboat cruises through palm-fringed waterways, passing paddy fields and traditional villages. Kumarakom offers a quieter experience with bird sanctuaries. These Kettuvallams (houseboats) were traditionally used for rice transport and now provide a magical way to experience rural Kerala life.
