About
Nestled at 1,600m in the Western Ghats, Munnar was the summer resort of the British Raj. Today, it's famous for its vast tea estates that carpet the hills in emerald green, producing some of India's finest tea. The town is surrounded by Anamudi, South India's highest peak (2,695m), and is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The region offers tea factory tours, trekking, and encounters with Kerala's unique flora and fauna.
